Robert Clarke (1920-2005). Actor, director and producer. Clarke worked in Hollywood from 1944 until 1965. He appeared in all genres: horror, science fiction, Westerns and dramas. He worked with John Wayne, Bela Lugosi, Boris Carloff and Clark Gable. Movie credits include The Body Snatcher, Dick Tracy Meets Gruesome, The Man From Planet X, The Incredible Petrified World and Terror of the Bloodhunters. Upon completing The Astounding She-Monster, Clarke, by now convinced that any film could attain a release no matter how wretched, made his directorial debut with The Hideous Sun Demon (1959).
