She made her feature film debut playing a small role opposite Molly Ringwald in 1986's Pretty in Pink, and graduated to the jucier role of Coral opposite Tom Cruise in Cocktail (1988). Gershon is well known for having a large and dedicated gay and lesbian following, probably influenced in part by her lesbian/bisexual roles in such movies as Bound and Showgirls.
